I was born in London in 1972. I have always been interested in photography but it has only been in the last few years that I have been doing it more seriously. While travelling around the world in 1994 I learnt how to dive on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and immediately fell in love with diving. After a period of several years and all too infrequent opportunities to dive I decided to become a diving instructor. I moved to Egypt and was certified as a PADI diving instructor in 2003, after completing my training with Emperor Divers.
It was when I took up diving that I became eager to get behind the lens again so I could show/bore friends and family with the stunning and alien underwater world.
My first attempt at underwater photography was on a diving trip to the Bahamas in 2000. I borrowed friends camera but the results were poor at best. Three years later I found myself in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt working as a diving instructor. I purchased a Sony Cybershot camera with underwater housing, I used my days off to take pictures and was very pleased when some of them were used for the front covers of several books.
